How to re-pressurise your boiler

If the pressure gauge needle on the appliance shows a reading below 1 bar, please recharge the system.To initiate the filling process, pull the blue lever down.Keep an eye on the pressure gauge.Once the needle indicates a pressure between 1 and 1.5 bar, let go of the blue lever to halt the filling process.

Find the filling key and follow the steps to re-pressurise.
Insert the filling key firmly into the body of the filling link, making sure the arrow on the key shaft aligns with the open padlock symbol.Rotate the filling key to the right until it stops, ensuring that the key is locked in place and cannot turn further. The arrow should now align with the closed padlock symbol. This connects the two sections of the filling loop.Turn the white knob to the left to allow water to fill the system.Once the pressure, indicated on the appliance facia pressure gauge, reaches between the 1 and 1.5 bar marks (zone A), turn the white knob to the right to close the valve. Avoid overtightening.Rotate the filling key to the left until it stops, aligning the arrow with the open padlock symbol, and pull the key straight down to remove it. Remember to store the key in the bottom panel.

If your boiler is persistently losing pressure and you’re frequently topping it up, this shouldn’t be the case. There’s an important step to take before searching for leaks in your system: check your pressure gauge while your heating is on.
Does your pressure gauge indicate high pressure before your heating begins to cool down?Is there a copper pipe on the exterior wall that is dripping or spraying hot water?
If you notice one or more of these symptoms, it might be time to recharge or replace the expansion vessel inside your boiler. This task should be performed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, this issue is quite prevalent among all boiler brands. Boiler maintenance should involve checking and recharging your expansion vessel, which means this problem can be resolved by having your boiler serviced.
